The Board of Asia Iron Australia and its subsidiary companies, including Extension Hill Pty Ltd have announced the termination of Managing Director Bill Mackenzie’s contract of employment. The termination has immediate effect.
Mr Mackenzie has undertaken much of the groundwork for the development of the Company’s major project, the Extension Hill Magnetite Project in the Mid-West of WA. He has been instrumental in obtaining approvals and land access for the Project. However in order to see the multi-billion dollar project through to production a stronger focus is required on construction and project management.
The Company’s Chairman, Guo Deyong, will step into the role of Interim Managing Director. He will take a more hands on approach and strengthen relationships with the predominantly Australian management team.
To assist the Company with a smooth transition to the delivery phase of the Extension Hill Magnetite Project, current Director Ben Zikmundovsky has been appointed as Executive Director – Head of Projects. Mr Zikmundovsky is highly experienced in major project delivery and will oversee the shift from the preliminary phase of the Project through engineering and construction.
We look forward to working with management, employees and stakeholders as we deliver the Project.
Extension Hill Magnetite Project has Chinese Government approvals to invest in and develop the Project and funding support from China Development Bank.
